10Component Delay
Loading example…
The game runs at a fixed rate of 60 ticks per second. Each component requires one tick—approximately 0.0166667 seconds—to process and pass on a signal.
This means that signals take some time to reach their destination, such as when traveling from a Lever to a Thruster. You usually will not notice this delay, but it may become important when building logic circuits or other systems that require precise timing.
For example, if you place 10 Data Routers between a Lever and a Datameter, the signal will take 11 ticks to travel from the Lever to the Datameter.
To precisely control the timing of your circuits, use the Delay component. It adds a selected number of ticks before passing the signal onward.
The only exception is the Frame Quarter With Ports. Multiple connected frames of this type still act as a 1-tick delay.
